How to Manage Joint Venture Product Giveaways

The latest and greatest way for people to grow their lists is GIVEAWAYS!!!!

Everyone benefits, you get free ebooks and reports, they get lots and lots of names added to their mailing lists.

If you aren't familiar with the Giveaway Model let me explain.

You go to a site, for example here's the newest one lately, Santa Sal's Christmas Giveaway.

When you get to the site you will have to "sign in" ~ this means giving up your name and email address. Once you are in you can go directly to your free gifts or downloads. There will be tons and tons of free products there, yours for the taking.

Here's the catch ~ for each product you want to download you have to give up your name and email address and get on that person's list. You WILL receive more email from this person.

I made a huge mistake the first time I went to a giveaway. I got EVERYTHING!!! It was free. I'm all about free. I had so much email coming to my inbox, I was completely overwhelmed and ended up getting pulled in so many directions because I had too much information coming at me and it all looked like good ideas!!

Here's my advice. Giveaways are great. They are a wonderful opportunity to get some information you've been wanting without having to pay for it.

Here's the trick.

Go in knowing what you are looking for. Get ONLY that.

Make up your mind before going in what you are looking for. (It's kind of like going to a casino or an auction, know how much you're willing to spend or how high you're willing to bid BEFORE you go in)

For example, for Santa Sal's Christmas Giveaway I went in looking for more information on Making money from myspace (for the 30 Day Marketing Experiment blog), information on profitable blogging and anything on Squidoo.

I found something on each of those topics. In fact I was able to pick up a copy of Myspace Marketing Secrets, which I had been thinking about buying. :) I saw some other stuff that caught my eye. But I stuck with what I had agreed to. Just those topics.

If you can set up some boundaries and limits for yourself giveaways can be really fun. Not only will you get some great products up front, but when you start getting email from those who gave the product away, it will be of interest and use to you as well. :)

If you haven't been to Santa Sal's Christmas Giveaway yet I suggest you ski on over there now. It's a Christmas thing and will only be available for a few more days. No matter what your interests are, I'm sure you will find something you like. :)

Good luck and have fun!!

Jackie Lee :)
